Where we are

The Vagabond Lodge is 1 km. north of Mkwaja in the district of Pangani, Tanga region. Approximately 2 km from the borders of Saadani National Park and 12 from its entrance gate. Being so close to the Park means that in just a few minutes from our beach resort you can be in the midst of the animals, but compared to the accommodations inside the park an entrance fee is due only when you cross the Park gate.
Distances:  Zanzibar island 40 km east, to the north Pangani and Tanga 50 and 100 km respectively, south Bagamoyo is 105 km away and Dar es Salaam about 170 km.
In the Park there are 2 runways: one is near the Saadani village and the other is nearby, at Mkwaja. Both are a 15 minute flight from Zanzibar. There is another runway near Pangani.
If you are driving from Dar es Saalam it takes about three and a half hours, half of which is through the Saadani park making it a very pleasant ride.
